ConsultStar was founded in 2018 to help medical practices manage the growing administrative burden of prior authorizations. We focus on accurate, timely submissions so providers can spend less time on paperwork and more time with patients. Our on-shore team works directly inside client EHR systems and supports a range of specialties, with particular experience in radiology, orthopedics, oculoplastics, vein surgery, and functional plastic surgery.

About the Founder
ConsultStar was founded by Amanda Phipps, a healthcare operations leader with more than 26 years of experience. She previously served as Prior Authorization Manager at Imagine Software, where she led the implementation and development of prior authorization automation software used by medical practices. Amanda has also held roles in medical operations, practice administration, and regional management, and served as a subject matter expert during a major Epic EMR implementation. A former MGMA Certified Medical Practice Executive (CMPE), she holds a Project Management Certificate from the University of South Carolina and a Bachelor of Arts in Biology from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. She combines deep operational knowledge with hands-on experience in both traditional and automated prior authorization processes.
